What is a chemical peel?
Your skin is where your beauty routine begins with a clean palate. A chemical peel gently sloughs away the top layers of your skin revealing a beautiful glow! When you get a chemical peel, a solution is applied to the areas you want to rejuvenate on your face, neck, or hands.
What should I expect during a chemical peel?
Chemical peels vary depending on the strength and type of peel. Generally your skin feels a little prickly and sometimes warm during the process. The length of the process varies and can range from a few second to up 20 minutes. Once the peel has been neutralized the in office process is over.
After a few days, the old skin is completely sloughed away and new skin will emerge. The new skin is very sensitive and should not be handled. How well you take care of your skin after you leave the office is very important.
What are the potential risks and side effects of a chemical peel?
You should expect some redness, flaking, and dryness in the days after your skin peel, but most significant risks can be avoided by following our aftercare instructions.
